Calls are being made to remove an appalling sign from an Aboriginal massacre site near Mackay in Queensland, Australia. The highly insensitive, thoughtless sign, erected during the recent holiday period, has deeply offended descendants of those involved in the 1860s incident. Many other people believe the sign is disgusting and should be pulled down. The sign does not have local council approval. This is yet another incident in which the truth of Australia’s history has been ignored and treated with disdain.
